Tigers’ Verlander labors, gets first win (AP)

Justin Verlander labored through five innings for his first win in four starts since signing a long-term contract, and the Detroit Tigers’ bullpen came through again in a 5-4 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday night.
