Indians make room for 1B Branyan (AP)

The Cleveland Indians have optioned outfielder Michael Brantley to Triple-A Columbus so they can activate first baseman Russell Branyan. Brantley began the season as Cleveland’s starting left fielder, but only because Branyan, who signed a $2 million contract with the Indians in February, was on the disabled list with a herniated disk in his back. http://bit.ly/bjCXzm
