Rockies purchase contract of LHP Beimel (AP)

The Colorado Rockies have purchased the contract of left-handed reliever Joe Beimel and optioned right-hander Esmil Rogers to Triple-A Colorado Springs. The move was announced Friday before the Rockies began a three-game series at Atlanta. Beimel was at Colorado Springs on a minor-league deal.
