Rangers 2B Kinsler to play Friday (AP)

Second baseman Ian Kinsler rejoined the Texas Rangers on Thursday to travel with the team for its West Coast trip and his season debut. Kinsler was back in the clubhouse after completing a three-game rehabilitation assignment at Double-A Frisco without any setbacks. Rays C Navarro suspended 2 games (AP)

Tampa Bay catcher Dioner Navarro was suspended for two games by Major League Baseball on Tuesday for what it said was “inappropriate conduct” that included bumping an umpire during an argument. Navarro was ejected by plate umpire Dan Bellino during the sixth inning of Friday’s game against Toronto for arguing a pitch to Adam Lind that was called a ball. http://bit.ly/c707yd


Halladay suffers first loss with Phils (AP)

Mark DeRosa gave the San Francisco Giants a two-out, two-strike hit that they’ve been missing — and he did it against Phillies ace Roy Halladay. The St. Louis Cardinals placed infielder Felipe Lopez on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a right elbow strain.
